Product description

Amok Equipment was founded by enthusiastic Norwegian outdoor engineers. Our first hammock, the Draumr, was developed to create a dream hammock (Draumr originates from Old Norse and means Dream). The product features, details and quality is unmatched by any other hammock. Just calling this “a hammock” doesn’t do it justice. It's a flat and comfortable floating bed. Adjustable straps prop the hammock upright like a chair, a configuration commonly called "beer mode". This refers to the built in bottle holder, which is just one of many gear storage options. Another pocket contains the built in bug net. The 90 degree hang gives you 360 degree panoramic views. Watch the sunset in chair mode, then simply pull the straps to enjoy the truly flat sleep mode. This dream camping hammock is designed to be used in combination with an inflatable sleeping pad for ultimate comfort and insulation. We consider pads and mattresses to be more versatile than underquilts commonly used for hammock insulation. While an underquilt is hammock specific, an insulated inflatable sleeping pad can be used on all your outdoor adventures. Pair it with the Draumr 3.0 tarp to turn it into a rainproof shelter. When you first try the hammock tent you will notice additional important details. The cinch-buckle suspension system is super easy to use. Foam dividers blocks water from running down the straps and into the hammock, and the tree-friendly straps are designed to grip without damaging the trees. Finally, when packing and leaving camp, the whole thing packs easily into the attached pack-sack.

The Amok Draumr 3.0 hammock is designed to be used together with an inflatable sleeping pad for ultimate comfort and insulation.

Inside the hammock there are two pockets for different sleeping pad sizes:
Pocket for large pads: approx 77 x 25 x 4 inches
Pocket for medium pads: approx 72 x 20 x 2,7 inches

It is important to consider your use of the hammock when deciding on a sleeping pad. If you camp mostly during summer a basic air filled sleeping pad is perfect, and can be found at affordable pricing. For year round camping we recommended that you use a well insulated sleeping pad.

R-value (putting a number on warmth): Most manufactures of sleeping pads meant for camping provide an R-value. This describes the pad's insulation ability and a higher R-value means better insulation ability. For winter use it is preferable to have an R-value of about 4 and more. For 3-season use in spring, summer and autumn an R-value around 3 will do. For camping in the summer and in warmer climates you can use an air filled mattress without insulation.

Bring a repair kit

Always remember to bring a repair kit in your backpack. Most manufacturers include a repair kit when you purchase a pad.
